WORKSHOP: Designing Memories

During this three-day workshop at Pforzheim University, fifteen students from mixed backgrounds were asked to come up with memories for the readymade objects they had brought along. Many of the participants were aspiring fashion & accessories designers and had rarely worked with the media the workshop suggested. They set out to craft narratives around the few selected objects and started to build film-props, wrote conversations and visualized characters before the fragments were linked to tell a coherent story: In the meantime, they had gone through various design-tasks as they created a visual identity, the exhibition design, various short films and a project title. ‘Codes of Freedom’ was presented in a small exhibition and set next to other projects that where concieved during the University Workshop week themed ‘oblivion’.
